About HappyGoth

By day, I'm a graphic designer. By night, I'm a knitter. I'm doing my part to keep Hotlanta stylish. I imagine that if you don't already understand the title of the blog, you're probably confused and perhaps slightly annoyed, but never fear - I do have a reason (and it's a good one). Having gone to hear Stephanie Pearl McPhee, and then having been inspired to blog about knitting, I found myself wondering what to call the blog. I recalled a conversation I had with Mouse and the Chicken Goddess about why it is a Bad Idea to anger knitters - this conversation was following SPM, aka the Yarn Harlot telling the assembled throng about Those Who Do Not Understand Knitting and Therefore Belittle It Much to the Chagrin of Others, or TWDNUKTBMCO, which is not the acronym she used but is the one I'm using because I forgot hers - that is, we are numerous and we all have very pointy sticks, easily transforming into an angry mob. Therefore, knitters = angry mob.

Ahahahaha.

This is so awesome. The Ramayana, in PowerPoint (Incidentally, I’m in love with this story – I was given a comic book version as a child, and recently re-read it, and think it’s the best thing ever.)

It is wet.

Atlanta is virtually underwater, and it reminds me of Futurama. You know the episode, right? The one where they go to the lost city of Atlanta, where the mermaids live (and look suspiciously like Col. Sanders of KFC fame)? Well, … Continue reading

DragonCon, final bits.

Day 4: Sunday This day was another forgetful day. I slept in, which was awesome. After I got up, I went with Becca to get breakfast, and then put on the costume I invented the night before, which ended up … Continue reading

I totally gakked these from Jennie (Jennie, let me know if you want any not linked from your site): What do we all have in common? Guess. (Hint: it’s not black clothing) I did the Rajasthani garb thing again for … Continue reading

DragonCon Recap: Sunday

Day 3: Saturday (My costume of the day, photographed by the lovely Heather) Saturday has the most gaps in it, though not too many. Got up early to do the D*Con parade. It was the first year I’ve walked in … Continue reading

Finally, DragonCon stuff

See, here’s what I did: So that I wouldn’t forget, I typed up a recap of all 5 days, which I then saved to my work computer, and consequently left on my work computer. However, I am making up for … Continue reading
