Atlaneans? I like that better.

Anyway. I have something imperative for all of you to try. If you get some extra cash and a free Thursday, go to the Hilton downtown and take the elevator to the basement and go to Trader Vic’s. I know some of you have probably done this already, but if you haven’t, you  must.

Why Thursday? Well, firstly the Mai Tais are $5 on Thursdays, and secondly Tongo-Hiti plays then, which is the best part (if you don’t or can’t drink, there are virgin drink options, and I have it on good authority that those are very tasty). Jennie and Becca and I went last week, and aside from me finishing my drink and Jennie‘s, too, resulting in massive drunkenness on my part, it was a blast and I’m so ready to go back again.

Did I mention that Tongo-Hiti has a theremin? Well, they do.

I got a little plastic dude in my drink. Apparently there’s a drink that includes a plastic parrot. I will perhaps order that next time. I seriously felt like I was visiting a swinging 50s bachelor pad. It was awesome.

About HappyGoth

By day, I'm a graphic designer. By night, I'm a knitter. I'm doing my part to keep Hotlanta stylish. I imagine that if you don't already understand the title of the blog, you're probably confused and perhaps slightly annoyed, but never fear - I do have a reason (and it's a good one). Having gone to hear Stephanie Pearl McPhee, and then having been inspired to blog about knitting, I found myself wondering what to call the blog. I recalled a conversation I had with Mouse and the Chicken Goddess about why it is a Bad Idea to anger knitters - this conversation was following SPM, aka the Yarn Harlot telling the assembled throng about Those Who Do Not Understand Knitting and Therefore Belittle It Much to the Chagrin of Others, or TWDNUKTBMCO, which is not the acronym she used but is the one I'm using because I forgot hers - that is, we are numerous and we all have very pointy sticks, easily transforming into an angry mob. Therefore, knitters = angry mob.
