Many things happened this weekend.
Firstly – we went and saw a live wrestling performance in Avondale Estates (after having some pizza at Savage Pizza). While I enjoyed the wrestling (Platinum Championship Wrestling), I think I would have preferred it not to be at midnight.
Secondly – made the most delicious pancakes for the husband for his birthday. It was a recipe from GOOD magazine, and was basically a giant puffy baked skillet-cake with grilled pears and a brown sugar glaze. Delectable. We plan on doing it again, only with blueberries or peaches.
Thirdly – looked at lots of fabric, bought some, and had dinner at Coco Loco. Coco Loco has dishes that I only remember from my college days, when Lily and Manuel did that thing that one time with arroz con gandules plus chicken and tostones. We will be eating at Coco Loco again.
Fourthly – tried in vain to find Jo-Ann’s. We’ve looked it up online since the weekend.
Fifthly – Had lunch with B & T and their son, E, who is cute as a button. It was good to catch up with them; we used to do Battlestar Galactica nights at their house, but then came E and the end of BSG, so we haven’t seen them for a while. Also, I am finding it convenient to type in acronyms. Saves time.
Sixthly – met with a friend’s fiancee to go over details about their wedding invitations. Ate some fro-yo. Mmmm fro-yo.
Seventhly – saw My Name Is Khan (MNIK) with the CG. She and I have a blog post in the works about this. I will not say more until then, except that perhaps I built it up a bit more than was intelligent, and I totally love SRK and Kajol regardless. Expect a more robust review later.
And then it was Monday! I am feeling a little not so good, so this week feels like a vacation from the weekend, even though I’m at work. Sad, isn’t it?
Hey, that PCW thing – my oldest friend participates in that. She is the asian woman who portrays the “Doctor”.
Was she at the one you saw?
Yep! She came out after one of the rougher matches.
Husband wants to know how he gets to be part of Oscar Worthy’s fan club.
