No, really.
Sorry to have been a slacker with the blogging lately, but it has been an SRK-fest in the world of Happygoth and The Chicken Goddess (wouldn’t that be an awesome amusement park?), which means that nothing else has gotten done.
Okay, so that’s not true. I did get a lot of work done on Saturday and met with some friends to talk about wedding invitations and introduced the Husband to the delight that is Zyka (nom nom nom) and I think in there was Valentine’s Day (wherein I made him several meals and cookies and we watched the Smallville Justice Society special), but you get the idea, no?
But there has been something of an SRK-fest. We had intended to watch Paheli a while back, and found ourselves with a damaged copy (that’s another story), so had to put it of for months. The CG acquired another, and it was watched and I think it might be one of my all-time favorites. I’m a little biased toward all things Rajasthan, but seriously – romance! ghosts! SRK! turbans! sweet ‘staches! And Rani Mukherjee is adorable.
And then I have been overwhelmed with a glut of information about My Name is Khan from bloglandia. I AM SO EXCITED TO SEE THIS FILM. The guy at Namaste Bollywood has been urging the CG to go see it, like, every time she goes in to buy DVDs. So then I spent four hours (cumulative) hunting for interviews and videos and articles, and my brain is kind of buzzing. I wasn’t so keen on SRK when I first started watching his films, but now I think he’s delightful (and very funny; his tweets are great). I have no idea what this means for me and my productivity, but this coupled with FarScape means that I’ll either (a) get nothing done or (b) get quite a bit done while watching TV.
On the positive side, this obsession with Bollywood films has paid off; not only have I been able to converse with Mr. Jaipur (we chat over IM; he helps me with my Hindi and I help him with his English) about the weather — “mausam tha…” — but also we talked at length about Three Idiots and what an excellent film it is. Not all unproductive, see?
I have some photos of the flowers my husband gave me for Valentine’s Day, but my camera cable has vanished, yet again (one hopes it has run off to spawn more camera cables and that I will have a full litter at my disposal soon).
