Socks!

Are all I’m knitting lately. Oh, but what socks they are. I’ve made the decision (finally) to rip out the Rivendell socks I started in Marrakesh, and I’ve started a new pair using the Lotus Knits yarn in Walk With the Ghost (I think that’s the colorway). It’s a soft grey with little silver strands throughout, so the socks are misty and magical. It’s as though the yarn was designed specifically for this patter (or vice versa). I’ve gotten through the first chart on the first sock, and will undoubtedly finish the second chart by next week (unless packing to move takes up all my time). I am in love with these.

Sadly, although I spent 11 hours at Reagan National airport in DC, waiting for the storms to pass over Boston so we could fly in, I only finished another couple of rows on my pink socks. I’m so close to finishing! That day was seriously too stressful for productive knitting. I didn’t think it was possible, but apparently this sort of occasion exists. I have a feeling that the next couple of weeks are shaping up to be more of the same (although I will get much more accomplished as I will be at home and not on a business trip).

Once I get my photos uploaded, I’ll post the one picture I took in DC before my camera crapped out and WIP photos of the new Rivendell socks. They are truly spectacular.

Happy Monday!

About HappyGoth

By day, I'm a graphic designer. By night, I'm a knitter. I'm doing my part to keep Hotlanta stylish. I imagine that if you don't already understand the title of the blog, you're probably confused and perhaps slightly annoyed, but never fear - I do have a reason (and it's a good one). Having gone to hear Stephanie Pearl McPhee, and then having been inspired to blog about knitting, I found myself wondering what to call the blog. I recalled a conversation I had with Mouse and the Chicken Goddess about why it is a Bad Idea to anger knitters - this conversation was following SPM, aka the Yarn Harlot telling the assembled throng about Those Who Do Not Understand Knitting and Therefore Belittle It Much to the Chagrin of Others, or TWDNUKTBMCO, which is not the acronym she used but is the one I'm using because I forgot hers - that is, we are numerous and we all have very pointy sticks, easily transforming into an angry mob. Therefore, knitters = angry mob.

Immensely! I’ll be sure to post (and plurk) photos once it’s done, if the ChickenGoddess doesn’t beat me to it!
