Allo!

[I dyed yarn! I didn’t screw it up! It’s been microwaved!]

Whew. That was a week and a half, wasn’t it?

Anyway. Sorry I didn’t come to Philly, Gabbiana; it was a whirlwind (though the sofabed was incredibly tempting, I have to admit). Next time.

Now I have to upload and sort many, many photos (including some of yarn I dyed with braveharlot), and send out some thank-you notes, and also get back into the groove of work, which is proving to be very hard. Lunch was brought in today (yay, free food!), and I’m meeting a friend at the office, so he can give me a painting. I will be sure to share.

And also, the hardest part is that I really got into the Twilight series, and it’s sort of occupying a third of my brain capacity right now, and the other two thirds are working overtime to do actual useful stuff. On the plus side, I might actually get some writing done this way. That would be excellent.

About HappyGoth

By day, I'm a graphic designer. By night, I'm a knitter. I'm doing my part to keep Hotlanta stylish. I imagine that if you don't already understand the title of the blog, you're probably confused and perhaps slightly annoyed, but never fear - I do have a reason (and it's a good one). Having gone to hear Stephanie Pearl McPhee, and then having been inspired to blog about knitting, I found myself wondering what to call the blog. I recalled a conversation I had with Mouse and the Chicken Goddess about why it is a Bad Idea to anger knitters - this conversation was following SPM, aka the Yarn Harlot telling the assembled throng about Those Who Do Not Understand Knitting and Therefore Belittle It Much to the Chagrin of Others, or TWDNUKTBMCO, which is not the acronym she used but is the one I'm using because I forgot hers - that is, we are numerous and we all have very pointy sticks, easily transforming into an angry mob. Therefore, knitters = angry mob.

I’ve taken individual photos of each hank (though I’ve not seen them yet, so I don’t know if they’re any good), and I’ll do the same with the balls, too. And then I’ll email them to you, rather than just hoarding them for myself. In case you were worried or something.

Also, the purple&lightpurple&green totally reminds me of violets when it’s wound up.

Can you photograph it in the hank before you wind it (if you haven’t yet)? I kind of want to see what it looks like in the hank. If not, it’s okay. I can’t wait to knit with it!

    Thanks!

I finally had a chance to wash all of the yarn and I’m winding it up to mail to you as I have the energy. (California got me sick. Bastids.) I think you’d mentioned that you didn’t have the swift/winder setup as of yet, and small cakes are easier to stack than big floofy hanks.

It was so much fun having you guys here! I’m so glad you were able to visit!
