This week, that is.
Not only are we moving the rest of our stuff this weekend, but we also have to get the car fixed (again). It’s part of owning an ancient, high-mileage Volvo. According to the mechanic, it’s only a thermostat issue, and therefore cheap (and easy) to fix. That’s a relief. I like it when things in my life come in manageable chunks. However, this has made us realize that perhaps we need to purchase another vehicle, if only to cover us in these sorts of situations. There was a mad scramble last night to find me a way to get to class this evening (thank you, ChickenGoddess Husband). If all goes well, the husband will be able to come get me from work and take me to class in our car, and I won’t need the favor I’ve asked.
As part of my more productive evenings, I finally gave in and packed up my stash. I’ve got two whole boxes of yarn! Decent-sized ones, at that. I know that most knitters have more stash than that, but considering that I only let myself purchase sock yarn, that’s a pretty decent collection. I’m really excited to start setting up the guest/yarn/sewing room. And the rest of the house, too, of course. Our kitchen is four times bigger than the one we’re moving out of, so now I have room to do dyeing at home (I’ve promised the ChickenGoddess use of the space). I hope to have lots of beautiful yarn to show off in the next few months…
